The Regional Development Council (RDC) of Region VI, the primary institution that coordinates and sets the direction of all economic and social development efforts in the region, will convene in the Province of Antique  on  June 19 for its 2nd Quarter Full Council meeting.  The meeting will  be attended  by  governors, mayors, heads of regional agencies and private sector leaders of the  Western Visayas Region.

 The  meeting will tackle the reports of the  RDC sector and special committee as well as  the region’s tourism infrastructure projects. Mr. Mark T. Lapid, Chief Operating Officer of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) will be  the  event’s  resource person.

Governor Alfredo G. Marañon, Jr., former Chairperson of RDC VI, has been invited to discuss  the newly created Negros Island Region by virtue of EO 183 and the region’s  development agenda in the coming years.
