British Ambassador to the Philippines Asif Ahmad paid a courtesy call to Economic Planning Secretary and NEDA Director-General Arsenio M. Balisacan recently at the NEDA Secretary’s Office.

Balisacan tackled the important role of the trade and industry sector for the country’s economic
growth. He also talked about the development plans to be achieved until 2016 as enunciated
under the Philippine Development Plan (PDP). Generation of jobs, poverty reduction, and promotion
of infrastructure investment as well as public-private partnerships are the government’s priorities

Meanwhile, Ambassador Ahmad said that investors from the United Kingdom shall increase their
investments to further improve the growth of the Philippine economy.
