Governor Alfredo G. Marañon, Jr., Regional Development Council VI (RDC VI) Chairperson, will convene the RDC VI Advisory Committee (AdCom) Meeting  at the House of Representatives, Batasang Pambansa Building, Quezon City on May 19.

The proposed 2016 budget proposals of regional line agencies and state universities and colleges (SUC) in Western  Visayas, which was previously reviewed and endorsed by the RDC-VI, will be presented to the members of the House of Representatives for their support and endorsement during the forthcoming Congressional budget hearings.

RDC VI also invited Secretary Janette L. Garin of the Department of Health (DOH) to discuss the main thrusts and priorities of the DOH and the status of the health indicators, facilities, and services in Region VI, including the agency’s plan for the upgrading and modernization of tertiary hospitals and other facilities under the DOH. Secretary Florencio B. Abad of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) was also invited to discuss the region’s major development programs and projects for funding under the 2015 General Appropriations Act  as well as  the major changes being introduced in the regional budgeting processes.

The Advisory Committee is composed of Gov. Marañon, RDC Vice Chairperson and NEDA Regional Office (NRO)  Regional Director (RD)  Ro-Ann A. Bacal, RDC Secretary and Asst. RD  Raul S. Anlocotan, the 18 Congressional Representatives from Western Visayas, three Sector Congressional Representatives, six governors, two mayors of highly urbanized cities, and the chairpersons and co-chairpersons of the  four  major sector committees of the RDC. The regional directors of major national government agencies will also be invited as guests to answer the queries on their proposed budget for  2015.

The convenors for the 2015 Advisory Committee Meeting will be Congressmen Jerry P. Treñas  from  Panay and Guimaras and Jeffrey P. Ferrer from  Negros  Occidental.
