MANILA—The NEDA Board Committee on Infrastructure or INFRACOM recently approved the third batch of projects for funding under the Project Development and other Related Studies (PDRS) Fund.
The third batch of project feasibility studies, with an estimated cost of PhP155 million, include the following:
- Water Supply Project in Selected LGUs for the Local Government Support Fund – SAGANA at Ligtas na Tubig para sa Lahat (LGSF – SALINTUBIG) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG);
- Ipo Dam No. 3 Project of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS); and
- Pampanga Mass Transit System Project of the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
The study for the Water Supply Project will identify reliable water sources for the construction of water systems, while the study for the Ipo Dam No. 3 Project will involve the construction of a dam downstream of the New Ipo Dam and upstream of the Bustos Dam. The Ipo Dam No. 3 project will also be a catchment for spillage from Angat Dam to mitigate flooding in the area.
For the Pampanga Mass Transit System Project, the study will look at the establishment of mass transit routes along Mac Arthur Highway and within the Clark Freeport Zone. The DOTr project aims to promote sustainable land development along the transport corridor including Clark Green City.
The PDRS is a Special Purpose Fund with an allocation of PhP1.595 billion under the 2018 General Appropriations Act. NEDA administers the fund for the conduct of feasibility studies, masterplan formulation, alternatives and/or value analyses, and other pre-investment activities of major infrastructure projects.
