P.R. No. 2014-11
Economic Planning Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan (right) met with Canadian Ambassador to the Philippines Neil Reeder (left) recently at the NEDA Central Office. At the meeting, Reeder shared how the vast networks of Filipino communities in Canada have contributed to the strengthening of diplomatic and development ties between the two countries. Balisacan added that this increasing linkage is also reflected through the growth of Canadian companies in the country, especially in the sectors of Information Technology-Business Process Management (IT-BPM), insurance, among others. The Ambassador also mentioned the planned additional assistance of the Canadian government for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda. In turn, Balisacan discussed the government’s intention on releasing an updated Reconstruction on Yolanda (RAY) plan that incorporates the latest results of the Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) of the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD).
