jds-send-off

NEDA Deputy Director-General Rolando G. Tungpalan bade well wishes for the 13th batch of Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) fellows during their send-off celebration last August 6 at Astoria Plaza, Pasig City.

20 employees from different government offices across the country qualified to pursue various fields of study under the JDS two-year master’s degree program in selected Japanese Universities. The new JDS recipients will be leaving in batches on August 11, 21 and 28.

The JDS project is an initiative of the government of Japan through Official Development Assistance and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). JDS fellows are expected to contribute to the enhanced bilateral relations between their countries and Japan upon their return.

Embassy of Japan representative Hiroyuki Enoki, JICA senior representative Kunihiro Nakasome and Director General Claro S. Cristobal Jr. of the Foreign Service Institute were present during the event.
