New UNDP Resident Rep and Coordinator pays courtesy call on NEDA officials


Newly appointed UNDP Resident Representative and UN Resident Coordinator to the Philippines Mr. Terence Jones(left) paid a courtesy call on Economic Planning Secretary and NEDA Director-General Arsenio Balisacan(right) and Deputy Directors-General Emmanuel Esguerra(center) and Rolando Tungpalan last December 4 at NEDA, Pasig City.


The NEDA officials led by Secretary Balisacan welcomed Mr. Jones and acknowledged UNDP for its contribution to the country’s development efforts specifically on the Bangsamoro as well as the organization’s support in the recovery, response, and relief efforts after the onslaught of Typhoon Yolanda last year.


Mr. Jones commenced duty in Manila on November 21 to replace Ms. Luiza Carvalho, and will remain until a long term replacement has been recruited to fill the post. Since his retirement from the UN in 2008, Mr. Jones has served as Resident Representative/Resident Coordinator in the Asia Pacific region as senior policy advisor on development cooperation, programming and change management.
