Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto M. Pernia and the entire NEDA are taking the necessary precautions and risk management measures on the possible further spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
As of today, March 12, 2020, there is no confirmed case of COVID-19 recorded in NEDA.
Secretary Pernia has gone on self-quarantine as a precautionary measure following a meeting he attended last Friday, March 6th, where a person who tested positive for COVID-19 was present, even though he didn’t have any direct or close contact with that person.
The NEDA management is tracing officials and employees who were with persons confirmed to be COVID-19 positive during two separate meetings held last March 5 and 6, 2020. All concerned NEDA officials and employees who came in close contact with (were within one meter from) virus-infected persons are advised to go on self-quarantine.
Further, all NEDA employees are advised to take necessary precautionary measures to contain the rapidly spreading coronavirus, following advisories from health authorities. Any personnel exhibiting symptoms of the COVID-19 are advised to seek medical attention as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, work at the NEDA Central Office will continue to be suspended until tomorrow, March 13, to complete disinfection and sanitation procedures. Regular operations will resume on March 16, Monday, However, NEDA will be adopting flexible work arrangements to limit staff exposure to health risks.
