As a tribute to the 150th birth year of Dr. Jose Rizal, the Philippine Center for Gifted Education (PCGE) in partnership with the Regional Development Council (RDC)  of Western Visayas and the NEDA Regional Office (NRO) VI launched the nationwide search for “Mga Bagong Rizal: Pag-asa ng Bayan 2015”. The project is intended to honor outstanding third grade to college level students and out-of-school youths who emulate the ideals of Rizal and exemplify his excellence, creativity, passion, and values.

The PCGE will choose one awardee for each region while Mercury Drug Foundation Inc. will award one of the said awardees with a full scholarship grant.

Any Filipino residing in the Philippines, or any school, socio-civic organization, religious group, or government/non-government agency can nominate such an individual.  All nomination documents must be sent to Unit 1004 City & Land Mega Plaza Bldg., ADB Ave. corner Garnet Rd., Ortigas Center, Pasig City  from June 1 to September 1, 2015 only. The PCGE is a non-stock, non-profit organization devoted to raise awareness about giftedness and special education for the gifted. It  aims to actively search for gifted Filipinos and provide them equitable access to programs suited to their needs.
