The RDC XI notched another milestone with the launching of the Davao Region Industry Clusters Roadmaps (DRICR), 2014-2030   backed by a financing forum for the Roadmaps’ proposed projects. The “Davao Region Industry Clusters Roadmaps Launching cum Financing Forum” was conducted on April 22  at the Ritz Hotel, Davao City, in partnership with the DTI XI,  DA XI, and DENR  XI.

RDC XI Chairperson Rodolfo P. del Rosario urged the private sector to support the implementation of the Roadmap and expressed the Council’s high hopes that its implementation will result in generating  more stable and quality jobs to reduce  poverty  in Davao Region.

RDC XI Vice-Chairperson Maria Lourdes D. Lim cited that the Roadmap is the Region’s blueprint for agri-industrialization and services sectors’ competitiveness. Priority projects shall be funded by the private Sector, national government, official development assistance and local government units.

Industry clustering is a major strategy in the Update Davao Regional Development Plan, 2014-2016.  This will promote  the scaling up and development of the local industries to foster increased productivity and create more employment opportunities.

As an immediate result of the financing forum, two private sector proponents from the Abaca Industry Cluster shall be pursuing loan applications amounting to PhP5 Million each with the Land Bank of the Philippines  for additional capital  to expand their businesses.
