Economic Planning Secretary and NEDA Director-General Arsenio M. Balisacan welcomed NEDAns to the Social Protection Training organized by the Social Development Staff led by Director Erlinda M. Capones, last Monday at the Astoria Hotel in Pasig City.Balisacan emphasized the need for NEDA to enhance its institutional capacity to take the lead role in ensuring that social protection programs in the Philippines are adequate and effective.
The five-day training aims to enable the participants to: (a) identify the theoretical underpinnings of social protection; (b) learn from the best practices of other countries; and (c) enhance the capacity of the participants in monitoring and evaluating social protection programs in the country and providing policy advice and assessments on these concerns.
