STRONG DOMESTIC DEMAND BOOSTS IMPORTS IN MARCH 2016

Continued demand for capital and consumer goods drove imports growth of 11.7 percent in March 2016, according to the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA). The Philippine Statistics Authority reported that imports reached US$6.4 billion from US$5.7 billion in the same period.
